UNO's Computer Science Department Receives Funding from the National Security Agency
August 23, 2007 - UNO's Computer Science Department has received funding in the amount of $43,228 from the National Security Agency (NSA). This Information Assurance (IA) related project is led by Professor Golden Richard and includes Drs. Vassil Roussev, Jaime Nino, and Mahdi Abdelguerfi. The funding will support two projects. The first will be an instructional project consisting of the development of an Information Assurance related course tentatively entitled "Software Engineering and Security in Systems - Analysis, Design, Implementation, Deployment and Management." The second project will deal with research issues related to the "Mining of Spatial Data for Threats to Homeland Security."
